Volunteering with NEK Council on Aging provides me with a way to channel my energies towards positive outcomes for others, while sharing my own resources and thus making better use of them. The experiences that I am having as a volunteer illustrate to me the tremendous benefits of working interdependently with neighbors so as to strengthen ourselves and our community.”

Neil Glassman, Tech for Today Coordinator

Are you our next Digital Champion?

We are seeking volunteers to assist us in growing our Tech for Today support network. Volunteers may provide technical support, digital advocacy, or both. Most services are provided in the homes of our clients; mileage is reimbursed.

§ Our technical support providers are volunteers who are tech savvy and can patiently take others through the steps they need to be connected.

§ Our digital advocates have a passion for helping our elder friends negotiate services for cable, Internet, and phone services.

For more information and to apply to volunteer, contact our Tech for Today Coordinator, Neil Glassman, by email on nglassman@nekcouncil.org or phone (802) 745-2284. Volunteers are required to complete a background check.

"I am so grateful for Neil's help.  I could barely use my flip phone for simple phone calls, and it was outdated. I was able to get a new smartphone and Neil has helped me to keep in touch with medical appointments via texting and I am now learning how to use the calendar.  I am the transportation for four friends to and from medical appointments at Dartmouth, NVRH, and Burlington and managing my schedule in a planner is hard.  He is very patient and understands that I may not get it the first time. He is the real deal, thank you!"     Frances from Lyndon, VT
