“No person was ever honored for what he received.
Honor has been the reward for what he gave.” ~ Calvin Coolidge
How you can help sustain the work we do?
We rely on the financial support of grateful clients, their extended families, and civic-minded residents who understand that philanthropic giving to senior programs and services improves the quality of life for everyone who calls the Northeast Kingdom home.
There are a number of ways to fund our mission-driven work with a tax-deductible contribution.
Your Gift for Tomorrow is a new campaign of planned giving. Because each gift is unique, we are available to help you explore the possibilities and make your bequest easy to put in place. To get started, we’ve prepared an intro on simple giving. (attached with this e-mail)

PayPal is ideal for recurring contributions with a credit card to support such programs as:
- Meals on Wheels, the nutritious delivery and friendly visit that also serves as a safety
check for older Vermonters who might live alone.
- Rural Community Transportation (RCT), the service that helps a senior in need get to a doctor’s appointment,
the grocery store, the laundromat, or even one of our fitness classes or community dining rooms.
- Senior Companions that matches a homebound individual with a trained volunteer who helps in the
chores of daily living, including playing chess, going for rides for ice cream, and watching TV.
- Help At Home in which experienced case managers work with you to design a personal care plan that will
meet your in-home needs so you can live with dignity and independence for as long as possible.
WWW.Goodsearch.Com is a Yahoo!-powered search engine that you use exactly as you would any other search engine. Each time you do a search, about a penny is raised for the Council on Aging.
WWW.Goodshop.Com is an online shopping mall that donates a percent of your purchase price to the Council on Aging.
Become a NEK CoA underwriter!
Every May we celebrate Older Americans Month with a public event designed to raise awareness and celebrate the achievements of those who are 65+. Contact us about this exciting new opportunity to connect with a vibrant, active network of residents, their advocates, and their families. We start planning in January.
Every November we hold our annual meeting with a special luncheon that showcases the work we do, that honors an outstanding volunteer, and that thanks our partners and legislators. This is an impactful way to make contact with Northeast Kingdom influencers. We start planning in August.
To discuss either of these high-impact opportunities as an underwriter who wants to show your support of seniors and their goal of living with dignity and independence, contact our development director,
Helen Pike, to discuss your possibilities: 802-751-2608 or hpike@NEKCouncil.org.
